7 Months

We're actually just a day away from you turning 8 months, so in true Becky fashion, I will post this at the very last possible moment. :)

This past month has been another fun one with you sweet Mabel. You enjoyed your first Thanksgiving surrounded by lots of family. We had one Thanksgiving early with my mom and sister and there was lots of yummy food for you to try out. I couldn't get the food in your mouth fast enough. :) Then on Thanksgiving day we got together with all of the Hodill family. Another feast was to be had and you enjoyed the company. Sadly we all got sick shortly after, but you were a trooper even through your first fever.

I'm really excited to see you on Christmas here in the next couple of weeks. We've already been celebrating with some adorable Christmas jammies, a warm decorated house and a sweet Christmas book. You also love sitting by the Christmas tree and playing with the ornaments.

You truly are a joy!!

A little about you:
  • Very talkative with sounds ranging from growls to high shrill singing sounds.
  • Wearing some 6 month clothes, but mostly in 6-9 months and 6-12 months.
  • Still taking a bottle every 3-4 hours (except at night) and eating pretty much whatever we are eating for dinner. You also like the baby "Mum-Mums", Yogurt drops and teething biscuits.
  • Just recently started shaking your head back and forth (like "no"), and you think it's hilarious when we do it back to you.
  • You've finally got one little tooth poking it's way through. I can't see it yet, but I can feel it.
  • Still not very interested in rolling over or being on your tummy. Occasionally you will roll over, but you get mad the instant it happens. I'm starting to wonder if you will ever do this so that you can crawl. Guess we will see.
  • You still have a crazy amount of fuzzy blonde hair on top of your head, and more coming in on the sides. The top "fuzz" is finally getting long enough where it's starting to lay over. It changes the entire look of your face. Makes you look so grown up. :(
  • Sitting up completely on your own.
  • Super ticklish on your sides and back.
  • You like to lay in your crib in the morning and sing and talk until I come in to get you up. It's the best start to any day when I get you out and you smile and get excited when you see me. Truly melts my heart.
Favorites:
  • Totally a people person.
  • The dogs. You laugh at them when you see them and track them all over the house.
  • Being tickled and/or just being goofed around with in general.
  • Just laughing and being silly in general. I wonder where you get this from. ;)
Growing so big: At your 6 month appointment you were 16.2 pounds and 26 inches long. The Dr. said that you are skinny, but healthy. You just seem long to me so I think your chunk is just spread out more evenly. Either way, you are healthy and thriving and that to me is the most important thing.

I just love that open mouth grin. It kills me every time.
