Fall. Crafting. Love.

Each year, when the cooler weather hits mid-Missouri, I get the itch. The itch to create.

Just got back from a quick trip to Michaels.

Stay tuned for a post tomorrow about this craft.

Decluttering (is that a word?)

Cleaning and Organizing the crafty craft room tonight.

One word....messy!

I'm the kind of person who cannot work on one project at a time. I have to do multiple things at once; I guess I thrive on it. Thus the above picture. My desk is covered with sewing materials, painting projects and bags of beads. I just can't help myself.
Anyway, over the last couple of years I have acquired a lot of fabric along with random crafting supplies. They all fit nicely in my new room, but they have all yet to truly be organized. It's been slow going, but for some reason tonight I felt the urge to get in there and get things sorted.

These "before" shots are actually the worst that this room has ever been. This is actually after I pulled a lot of my fabric out of the wardrobe to sort. As you can see the wardrobe, desk and ironing board are covered with stuff. "Hi. My name is Becky and I like to hoard craft supplies."

One unexpected thing that happened while cleaning out my wardrobe was that I came across all of this.

Thrift store fabric!!

I can't believe I forgot all about it. It was "hiding" in the bottom of the wardrobe. All in all there were about 3 bags of fabric that I've bought within the last 4-5 months. Most of it is from Goodwill (love), but a few items are from a couple of local thrift stores. I was so excited to come across these treasures. I probably spent about $10.00 on all this fabric, which is awesome, because most fabrics start at about $4.95/yard.

So excited. The great part of the whole deal is that I already have a little crafty idea to make with some of the fabric.

Stay tuned for the room transformation and to see what I put together with the Goodwill fabric.

On a random side note: If you are looking for some new music to listen to check out The Lumineers. They are soooo good. I've been listening to them tonight and I cannot get enough of them :)

Blessings.
